Drinking with CHICKENS: Free-range cocktails for the happiest hour

The perfect gift for a chicken mom. The photos are stunning with beautiful backdrops- makes you envious but motivated to decorate your coop a bit. The author features her own birds and sometimes a surprise guest dog. The book is full of cocktail recipes. I don’t drink alcohol often so haven’t tried many of them but I enjoy the stories aka chitter chat humor that goes along with it.

Since I received my copy, I’ve purchased 5 more for friends!

Hilarious and so entertaining. The photography alone makes this book a must-have for your coffee table. Although it is a recipe book it’s also enjoyable to read cover to cover. I don’t have chickens of my own but I’m looking forward to cocktails with my quarantine.

Love this book. The author is hysterical. I wish she was my neighbor—great recipes cocktail recipes, photos, and witty writing—it’s a must-buy.

Oh my god! This book definitely delivered. From the gorgeous photographs of majestically oblivious birds behind flower-garnished drinks to the lovely vintage-inspired aesthetic to the amused acknowledgment that this is actually ridiculous, this book was a pretty delightful read.

Come for the chickens, stay for the inventive and delicious-looking cocktails. The author does a good job of offering easy substitutions if you don’t live in, you know, a verdant garden paradise offering up fresh citrus and pea tendrils and the like (seriously, I want your life).

I bought this book in bulk! One for me and two for friends -makes a great wedding or house-warming gift! The recipes are really innovative and different yet super yummy. My favorite is the Cherry Lavender Pisco Sour :)- I bought this book at the onset of the pandemic and it really enlivened happy hour during an otherwise dark time. The author's unique flare is sweet and silly -get your own happy hour off to a fun start with this great cocktail recipe book!

Such an amazing recipe book filled with recipes, pictures, tips and funny anecdotes of course. I was pleasantly surprised at how many actual recipes are in here - it’s a thick book! I bought it for a birthday gift for my friend who has chickens, but I like it so much, I’m buying one for myself too!

This book reads just like her blog - it’s witty and funny mixed with delicious cocktails and colorful pictures of CHICKENS! Kate takes you through the tools needed for cocktailing, recipes for infusing spirits, tips on using your own garden-grown ingredients, and chickens. Lots and lots of chickens. I’m off to make a Honeyed Paloma because it’s 5 “o’cluck” somewhere!

By the fourth page, I was laughing so hard, I could hardly stand it! A fun book of cocktail recipes to enjoy while watching your chickens...or anything else! We just got chickens this year, so I related perfectly!

Despite not drinking cocktails-had bought this book because the authors IG account is so delightful. Wonderful book and is one of my go to presents.

I love that the book is done by season and uses fresh garden materials for that particular season. Any special mixes (ie. Orange Bourbon) are provided as separate instructions in the book, so you can ensure you have everything and don't need to make a special order online or in-store.

Highly recommend this book for chicken lovers, drink lovers, and especially lovers of chickens and drinks!
