Pepper Jelly Paloma

If your celebration doesn’t include a bottle of Exotico Tequila ON the table and chickens chickening around UNDER the table…then I’m not coming. JUST KIDDING. I’ll still come, but I’ll bring the tequila and the chickens. You’ve been warned.

This festive Pepper Jelly Paloma is definitely anything but traditional. But it is just the ticket for Cinco de Mayo if you’re looking for something simple, a little sweet, a little tart, and just the slightest bit savory. That pepper jelly adds an interesting salty-savory-sweet vibe to the mix. And while traditional paloma recipes call to be topped off with grapefruit soda, we’ve switched it up for ginger ale. This is such a fun, easy, and refreshing cocktail, and you simply cannot go wrong with that gorgeous, bright, award-winning Exotico Blanco to roll it all together. Bring on all the summer parties!

PEPPER JELLY PALOMA

Makes 1 serving.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Exotico Tequila Blanco

  • 2.5 oz. pink grapefruit juice

  • 1 oz. your favorite hot pepper jelly (or practically any flavored jelly if hot pepper isn’t your jam—HA! See what I did there?)

  • .5 oz. lime juice

  • 1-2 oz. ginger ale

  • A slice of pink grapefruit + a dollop of hot pepper jelly to garnish

    • In a shaker with ice, combine tequila, grapefruit juice, pepper jelly, and lime juice. Shake until thoroughly combined and chilled. In a highball glass filled with crushed ice, strain contents of shaker, then top with ginger ale. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit and a dollop of pepper jelly.
